Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Depends on the bike...
Just check to see what is needed for your bike.

It depends on the frame. Does the frame have an integrated braze-on clamp?

How do I go about checking? I will be buying the frame. Do I have to wait for that to get here before I can find out?

What frame is it? You can probably look at the specs online.

Just give the manufacturer a call, they should be able to answer your question right away.

Since it's a CF frame, it's very likely the system used is a clamp.

^^^
My CF '07 madone has a "braze-on" for the front derailleur. It's not actually brazed on, of course, it is actually screwed in. But it isn't a clamp.

As mentioned by other posters, check with who you're purchasing it from, if you want to get a start on buying the front derailleur.

Typically it can be a braze-on, clamp 31.6 or 34.9. I've seen people buy the braze-on, and get the appropriate clamp size depending on the seat tube diameter.
