Finally got my new bike. This is the trainingbike. I have an S-Works model on order, but it wont be here until febuary. I actually shouldnt use the term training bike, as the real purpose of the S-Works will be the climbing bike. The specialized Tarmac has a taller head tube which gives me a better fit over my other 2 bikes. Its a bit heavier at the moment, but that's not really an issue. Its 17.3lbs as it sits, it is the 61. I didnt think I would like the white, but it looks pretty good. Not sure about the wheels, they seem out of place on the bike. Something black would look better.






Too bad Im sick and cant ride at the moment. Hopefully by next week.

Im 6'3". No it has'nt been fit yet. As I said Im rather sick. I picked up the bike and took it home, I'll mess with the fit later, but it is very close. It has a sloping top tube so it kind of decieving. I am not real sure, but Im guessing that the seat will only go down a half inch or less. Just for comparison, the top tube on this bike is higher then my Look and the Madone by quite a bit. This also has a longer top tube.

Great looking bike! I'm loving the Ultegra SL!!! I've been debating getting the Ultegra SL crankset for my 2007 Tarmac Expert and seeing yours just helped make up my mind

With the new taller head tube, I'll have to put them back on my list. Nice bike.

It was purely a fit issue. The look is just not big enough and its the biggest they make. Although I hear they are changing a bit too. Considering I got this whole bike for the price of the 585 frame and fork I do think it is a much better buy.

What is your cycling inseam measurement. Mine is 93cm and I'm 6'1". I need the taller head tube with a "shorter" top tube.

That was really the reason I changed. This bike just fit me sooo much better. Its also a great bang for the buck.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference between a tarmac and an s-works tarmac? I checked the website and the tarmac sl and s-works tarmac sl seem to be the same bike? I know the roubaix has a different head tube angle, more relaxed I believe, but the tarmac and s-works seem the same?

Carbon construction is different using 10r or 12r composition carbon resulting into a lighter and stiffer frameset. If you have the dough, go for the s-works..if not the 6R would do you good too...The S-works usually has the newest style and the other lower Tarmacs gets the style the following season albeit on 6R. For example the S-works Tarmac of 2005 design is the Tarmac Expert/Comp with 6R last years' 2007.

In bragging rights..the S-works is right up there...a lot of satisfied pros..a lot of respect. Doubt if people of amateur background would maximise its potential but as I have said if money is not a problem go for it!

Make sure you post that S-Works when it comes.
