Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Silver Thomson To Match Ti Frame?

Hey All,

Going To Be Upgrading The Seatpost And Wanted To Go With A Thomson. The Bike Is A Litespeed Ultimate (1999) With A Carbon Ritchey Stem. Anyone Have A Photo Of A Ti Bike With A Silver Thomson? Does It Match Close Enough Or Should I Go With A Black Seatpost? Cheers.

Bikes: A whole bunch-a bikes.

agreed. It won't match. I have a black one in my TI frame. I am not a stickler on looks but that one would probably bother me

I have some silver parts on my ti bike and I can tell you they don't match. I also don't care, as the parts are hard enough to find in any color. It's a tool, not a jewel, but if you have the choice, black will look best.

True, but some Ti posts weigh more than Al posts and are, of course, much more expensive.

Doesn't match "perfectly" but I still think it looks great on mine. Have a Merlin frame with Silver Masterpiece. Really like it.

A silver seatpost is not going to match Ti, but it's going to coordinate, particularly if the bike has silvver aluminum components.

yeah, that does look great on your bike! Matches the CK headset and DA brakes well. Love the Merlin.

Bikes: Dean TI fixie... Viner ProComp... NEXT pink sparkely!

I have a silver Thomson Masterpiece and a silver X2 stem... I think they look good with the track cranks. Plus the black coating on the Thomson posts seem to scuff up during adjustment.

Either way, the important issue is that you actually get a Thomson. Best posts and stems around.
