Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pulled the trigger.

I waffled quite a bit about the LBS vs. online, but I found a deal too good for me to pass up, and there are places to support warranty work locally if I need it:

New 2006 K2 Mach 2.0

Aluminum frame
Carbon Fork
Tiagra and 105 components

$499

I am having them do the "pro-build" for $59.95, so it should be good to go after a little bit of adjustment.

And hey, with the money I saved, I can blow more at the LBS

Next I'll be pestering you all about helmets and shoes.

Thanks a lot for all your help (whether you knew you were helping me with your posts or not).

And if anyone is looking for advice about Randall Scott, I have had a really good experience thusfar. Haven't gotten the bike yet, so I can't comment on anything about shipping, the bike, etc, but their customer service so far has been awesome.
