I can understand that. When I was in highschool, I was a competative swimmer swimming >7000 yards a day, 4 days a week. I weighed 150lbs. When I went to college, only one month in the dorm and not training and I gained 10 lbs.
A professional cyclist I can see gaining 22 lbs by not training for a few months. Thing is, they'll still look skinny even after the weight gain.

I think its entirely possible to come back, but who's going to have him? I'd say that is what's getting him down. Doesn't he have an additional two year ban from the pro tour after his doping suspension ends as well? Can't see the likes of Slipstream signing him. Look at Hamilton at the moment, nobody will have him.
have at the very least been able to ride in Tour of California. You forget that he was with Tinkoff until
the news of his name being connected to Puerto reached the surface and he was immediately sacked
after that.
