Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A little advice on the Giant SCR 1.5 or Trek 1.5?

Hi there,

I'm a novice but I'm going to France to cycle up some cols. I've got 4 months to train and get myself into shape and so I'm looking at two bikes:

Giant SCR 1.5 2008 - (size M) costing £650.00
https://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/id39876.html

Trek 1.5 2008 – (56cm) costing £599.99 https://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/id39180.html

Does anyone have any recommendations on which one is better. Alternatively if you think I'm buying the wrong bike then could you recommend an alternative.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
