Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

BG COMP ROAD SHOE VS Sidi Genius 5

Hi.
My trusty sidi Zeta finally gave out so I need new shoes ASAP (like I will be buying a set tomorrow). Sidi Genius 5 and Specialized Comp Road Shoes are about the same price, since I don't have time to do through research on both I ask you BF members what do you think about these shoes?

Thanks.

I just bought some Sidi Genius 5's, because: my son had them, my neighbor loves his, the guy at the LBS said Sidi are the best, hand made in Italy, replaceable parts, etc. They are certainly nicer than anything I've owned before, which includes Time, Diadora & Northwave. And yeah, the little ratcheting strap is just too cool.

Btw, last year's model is being phased out, so deals can be had. My son's carbon Genius 5 was $100 off at Performance when I bought them for xmas.

Warning though - the 8mm bolts that Shimano includes with Ultegra pedals/cleats do not work with Sidi shoes. Wish the LBS had known that, or told me, or whatever. Someone here tipped me off. Get 10mm bolts if you have the Shimano pedals.
