Easton EC70 or EC90 Seatpost?
when looking at the BMC SLC01 it is set up with a Easton EC70 not EC90 seatpost, at first i thought it was to cut costs...

but when looking at Scott Nydam's BMC SLC01 i noticed he too had a EC70, surely a sponsored rider would want the top of the range?

if i were to get a SLC01 would it be worth getting a EC90 seatpost?

Do you think you'd notice a difference? The difference is 40 grams, and a different clamping mechanism. Are you worried about 40 grams? Go with the 90.

Pro mechanics don't always have time to fiddle with torque wrenches every time they install a carbon part. Get the 70.

Also the 70 is offered with a set back, and in a couple different materials. The 90 is not.

The EC90 is available in a setback design, the EC90 Zero is non-setback. FWIW my teammate broke his EC90 during stage 2 at San Dimas this last weekend, probably cost him the KOM jersey, and he's a little guy. Ravenmoore (bf member) broke his in less than a 1000 miles.

I have the 90 and its a nice post. The only issue I have had is I have the standard setback version of it and it is a little too much setback for me.

I use a EC70 setback post. I am switching to a zero setback. Considered the EC90, and Thomson Masterpiece. I think that the Easton matches my BMC better, but I think that the Thomson is a better built post. The question: better fashion or function. Function won, Masterpiece is on the way.
