Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1. My reaction almost exactly. I'd love it but even if it was my size and my wife would let me shoot the entire IRS refund.....no. 2 grand, right size and spousal permission.....who knows

For someone who apparently knows something about cycling and is older than 25 that is a surprisingly clueless statement. The frameset is overpriced to be sure but is beautiful work.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. I doubt it'll get any bids.

Superfluous. I can appreciate that handiwork that went into making this, but I wouldn't ever consider buying a bike like that.

Isn't that the whole point?
Despite what the honda civic tuner set would have me believe, the flames are entirely decorative. Waterford was just showing off for a show bike.

Yes, it's been listed twice before for $5000. I

I've always wondered why the lug at the seatpost wasn't silver.
I can appreciate the work that went into it, but I wouldn't be willing to pay anywhere near what it's worth.

As beautiful as the frame is, I will agree... lugs do not serve any practical purpose on a Reynolds 953 frame.
If this was in a super high-end, super lightweight 531, it may actually have been worth the money...
Still, I have to say that I have experienced nothing but excellent customer service from Waterford, this goes a long way in the price tag IMO.

If Huggy Bear was a cyclist, he'd ride that bike. Hell, it's about his size, too.

Very nice work. I'd set up and ride something like this. Would be a blast. While my personal taste tends towards the very simple, this would do nicely! Notice the hollow tube ends at the dropouts, and the nicely done reinforcing. The extra diddles in the middle of the tubes around the "waterford" decals and the brake bridge seem overdone, but the rest looks just right.

This bike does absolutely nothing for me and for $4000 is way overpriced IMO.

Looks like someone had $4K they were willing to part with.
