Yak those cable housings look great on the bike, nice match for the silver on the frame. Just might get a set for my Kestrel. My bikes accelerates very well too, when you drop the hammer on it it takes off. Do you mind if i post a picture of it in your thread?

Does your seatpost/seat creak at all? I torqued mine to spec, then hand it a bit more on the ride, but it still creaks a bit on climbs when I slide back a bit.

I read somewhere that when you use a round post in the rt700 that there's a tendency to creak. That's just hearsay though.

I never set up a SRAM system before, so I fretted over that a bit, looking at pictures of other bikes, and tried a longer length on one side. I was trying to prevent a constant contact with the head tube that would wear on the paint, and found the shorter ones would stay off the tube better than longer ones. It's a tad tight when the handlebars get close to 90 degrees, but that's not something I care about. I also ended up putting half a glueless patch on each side of the head tube where the housing contacts it.

3M has an E-store for the colored electrical tapes in bulk (HomeDespot does sell most colors in single rolls, though). Gray is closest I could find in their Scotch #35 line. Perhaps that'll calm folks down a bit.

No it never creaked but was prone to slipping, fixed that with the hairspray trick.

Bikes: 2019 Reven Voltage, 2007 Kestrel RT700 & Univega MB hard front/tail and is 27 years old.
Nice build. I might have you do my next Kestrel
How do you like the Red? Have you ridden Force/Rival to compare against?
Saddle creak: I have the aero post and my saddle creaked but the saddle was set up too far back. I slid it forward on the rails and it seems to have gone away. My knees are not sore anymore either so I needed to go forward anyway.
I like your bottle cages too.

I'm still dialing in the saddle position, it might end up a bit forward so time will tell.
The little hint of orange on the cages sold me on them.

Hey Yak, how do you like that rear sram cassette with all those "missing" teeth? It looks crazy and made me do a double take. Does it noticeably improve the shifting between gears?

It actually shifts smoother than the Shimano cassette I used yesterday while trying to isolate a ticking noise in the frame.
