Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I actually get them at an LBS - I work there part time and get a discount. I'm sure you can find them online.

^^^did a quick google search. I saw them online at a few places but the prices surprised me a little. Most were $90+. Full retail on the ones I've purchased were $80 - maybe they've had a price increase. Weird. Still a great short though.

Same situation here. I like the Ultra bibs I picked up a few months ago for $45, but took them back for an exchange at Performance yesterday. The flatlock stitching on the back was fraying and coming apart. This should not happen with only ~450 miles on the shorts.

Thankfully Performance is cool about no questions asked exchanges and I got the 'new' 2008 Ultras. I don't see much of a difference in them from the 2007 version, but who knows.

And, yes, I was polite and washed them before returning them to the store.

May give the Hammer bibs a shot soon.

If the legs are loose thats a sign of an ill fitting short IMO. Most people buy shorts too big.
This happens to me, too. I have some skinny legs, though. The Performance bibs are much better with compression than my old PI Ultrasensor shorts, which were quite loose at the leg grippers.

IMO well fitting shorts should slightly compress/support the leg muscle all the way down. If they don't it's not a well made short.

I would like to place a first time order with Hammer for the Bibs. Does anyone have a 15% discount code that we can both benefit with? Thank you!

I just received my bibs from Hammer...very impressed so far. Good fit, we'll see how they ride in the AM. Also nice was the additional swag in the box (several gels, powders, bars...etc).

Yeah, I've been super happy with the hammer bibs and I really like their gels and heed as well.

I broke down and got the CSC bibs as well since they were such a good deal and I wish I didn't. The pad feels bulky and not nearly as comfy as the hammer bibs. If I were taller I can see the CSC's straps being more comfy.
