To keep white bar tape clean?

2 rides later, and it's already dirty.

Switch to black bar tape or carry some of this to touch it up as needed.

Grimy bar tape is a sign of a much-ridden bike. How is that a bad thing?

Used looking bar tape means you ride it; but a filthy bike is just wrong.

Wait until he sees the tires. After two rides they must be filthy.

My Bianchi has white bar tape and unless you don't ride your bike you have to live with the grayish appearance it takes after constant riding.

Seriously though, is there any way to clean it? I'm going to try Fantastik, be right back.

I give mine a scrub every couple of rides. Looks new if you keep up on it. If you can't handle that please don't be one of those Pig-pens with filthy tape

I've got blood stains on my handlebar tape. Leave it, it's a mark of honor .

Needs some sort of non-slip, clear coating, so wipping clean after ride ez. My old Ambrosio tape was like that, it had a shinny finish. I can't find it anymore. My new Fizik tape, looks like it's gonna attrack dirt fast.

Simple Green on a sponge with warm water for the bar tape, and wash your gloves a lot.

I really recommend the white carbon effect tape with a foam base. It is plenty soft, yet the surface is synthetic and non-porous, so dirt and grime do not get in there to stain it easily. Because it is non-porous, it will also clean up much easier.

i had white cork bar tape clean for about a month.

The rules:

ALWAYS wear gloves

wash gloves every few rides

i put the bike in my trunk to travel and my wheel rubbed crap on my bar tape, otherwise, it would have lasted more than a month..

I have enough trouble keeping a white frame clean. Sod white bar tape, life's too short - get out and ride.

Ehhh...Fantastik just moved the dirt around. I may re wrap the tape so it's not on the tops so much.

You're going to re-wrap after two rides?! Switch to black, quickly, for your own sanity. Either that or never ride that bike again
