Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

953

I know there are a few people on here who have ridden 953.
What can you tell me about it?
How does it compare to other steel?

It's stainless as well as stronger and lighter than Titanium. Check out Independent Fabrication's website.
Their 953 SSR is SWEET!!

In terms of ride quality, I couldn't tell a difference between 520, 631, 953 or anything else. I think any difference is structural, rather than perceptible. It's like the difference between 6061 Al and 7005 Al. I'd bet very few could tell a difference in a blindfolded test.

Huh? It's stronger than Ti, has a better Strength/Weight than some versions of Ti, but is much heavier than Ti.
