What about Felt bicycles?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What about Felt bicycles?

I am interested in the Felt SR71 Flat Bar.

What is your experience or opinion about Felt bicycles, quality, etc?

I've heard very positive reviews, but no personal experience.

However, the SR71 is one hot looking bike!

i own the sr-81 by felt

an excellent bike that was really a good deal

i rode the stink out of it this summer (about 2500 miles). wore out the bottom bracket and chain...ended up upgrading the drivetrain

the alex wheels were not that great and got replaced by my lbs under warrenty with some nice mavic cxp-21

the only real negative are the brakes....wish they were stronger

the sad thing is that my lbs stopped carrying the brand...they sold well but the company was difficult to deal with...

i ride a Felt F50. it's a pre-2004 F50, so it lacks the carbon seatstays
that the newer models have. still, it rides wonderfully and i've had no
complaints yet.

i've swapped out the stem for one with less rise, and i'll likely be getting
some lighter racing wheels to replace the Alex AXL320 wheelset that
came on it. the AXL320s have been fine and i will continue to use them for
training.

my 2 cents,

I ordered a Felt F60 about two months ago and the shop is still telling me any day now. I called Felt and they had great customer service. They said the bike shipped on Dec 5. So any day now. They apologized for the inconvenience, but said I rode a more rare size (60cm), and that the 2004's productions had only just begun. I am still waiting but for $1000 I got ultegra/105 and carbon stays. I'll let you know how it rides if I ever get it.

Felt bikes suck. They are over priced and not worth waiting on. I would get a Roadmaster if I where you bbarend.
