Road Morph Mount Question
This question is for those that have mounted their Road Morphs to the braze on water bottle mount, with the Hurricane Mini pump mount. I want to mount the pump on the down tube bottle mount, but I find that the front derailleur clamp prevents the pump from clipping into the lower clip. How did you guys get around this, or are your front derailleurs braze on?
Thanks,
Mike

You must mean the seat tube because there is no derailleur clamp on the down tube. Are you saying the holder bolts on just fine but the pump won't go into it, or that the mount doesn't go on because the clamp gets in the way? If the latter, you might have to cut away some of the material on the mount. I don't have the Road Morph, but I have a different pump mounted the same way and I had to cut part of the middle section away to clear the clamp.

Does your pump have the piece that is made for a clip-on mount? (Mine does.) If so you can try loosening that and shifting it to create more room to move the pump up a bit.
Mounting for the Road Morph is a somewhat of a pain due to its size. I find the best thing for me is to use zip ties and put the mount and the pump on underneath the down tube (not the seat tube, which is what you're referring to). Basically it sits between the two shift cables just shy of the front tire.

Mine's zip tied to the back of my seat tube. It tucks under my seat bag, between the seat stays. Its a bit of a kludge, but I gotta have my two water bottles. Under the down tube probably looks nicer.

what's wrong with strapping it under the top tube or left chain stay?
I have a 50cm and the road morph fits fine under the top tube.
I can't do the eddy, under the NDS chainstay, since the rpm/speed censors are there.

I'd worry about it swinging into the wheel from the seat/ chain stays or fork blades. Under the top tube makes shouldering it a pain.

your tyres aren't knobby and the pump is on an angle where the wheel won't catch it. It's unlikely that the pump will cause any problems other than rubbing even if it does swing into the wheel.
ok, yeah, shouldering is a hassle with a frame pump there.

Sorry, I meant to say the seat tube and not the down tube. The mount that I'm using is this one, and not the one that came with the Road Morph:https://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=4363 The mount bolts between the water bottle cage and the seat tube just fine, but the front derailleur clamp prevents the pump from clipping into the mount. I'm going to try mounting it to the down tubes cage braze-on, and see how that works.
Thanks,
Mike

Hey guys, I attached it to the down tube and I believe it's going to work. I haven't rode with it yet, but it doesn't stick out much further than the bottle cage and shouldn't be in the way of my pedal stroke. I use the Knee-Saver pedal extensions anyway (Big feet, with toe out condition
) which gives me a little more clearance.

Just curious, how are you guys able to post such large files? I had to cut the pics down quite a bit to stay under the 100kb limit, but I've noticed other picture files that have been posted are much larger. Do you have to be a "chosen one" to post larger files

^ JPEG compression. Save your pic as a JPEG with a decent level of compression and a pic big enough to fil the screen will be under 100k.

That's exactly where I have mine mounted (using an almost-identical mount by Blackburn) and it's never been a problem.

I've had a Road Morph for a couple of years and finally ended up with using really large rubber bands and attaching it behind the seat, so that it sticks out a little on each side. That's the best and safest way I've found.

Mine's mounted under the water bottle on the downtube. No interference issues there.
