Did I make a mistake? Michelin Pro 2s on a training bike

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have one road bike, and I used to have pro race 2's and now I think I have Pro Race 3s. I use my road bike for commuting, group rides and racing. The tires even though they don't have any visible tread are very sticky, I've never wished for more traction. In addition, they are pretty durable IMHO

Wouldn't say it was a mistake, I've had good durability out of my pro 2 race tires and they are performance tires too.

What's with the complaints regarding tight beads anyway? I've only used Michelins so I can't compare. But doesn't that just mean it's harder to de-bead a tire on the rare occasion that you corner with a flat/under-inflated tire?

PR2's on a training bike isn't a good idea. I mounted a PR2 on my front rim and flatted twice in a week... all the while my rear Krylion with over 1000miles has yet to get a flat.

Well, it is some for and some against. Thanks everyone for your experiences. I will keep the tires on and just wear them out, or at least until I get a few flats then will switch to something more durable if I don't have good luck. For what I paid for them from PBK I won't be unhappy if I get a few months of riding.

I rode my Road bike to work over 60 times (28 miles rt on sketchy roads) last year plus all of the other rides I did on pro race 2's. Plus they were a bargain at PBK. IMHO these tires are very puncture resistant and durable just as long as the pressure is kept correct.
