Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I feel like a slacker

Couldn't ride yesterday because I had to go to work early and in a hurry.
This morning, had a terrible headache... took medicine, waited...
Headache gone spandex in, water bottles icy cold, opened garage door ... looking good...

Daughter started crying... she wants to go along...m'kay...

Closed garage door... prepared milk bottles, diapers, wipes...
Assembled trailer... set up toys... find Mr Bear... place Mr Bear on trailer, set up baby girl on trailer...
Opened garage door ... and now.. RAIN.

It seems I have offended the cycling gods or something... could it be because I saved a few bucks by buying Gatorade instead of the Accelerade? Or maybe because I told a friend that I was quite happy with the Shimano 2203 shifters? Or probably because I promised my wife I will not buy bike stuff with the stimulus check? I have to meditate on this.

Don't feel bad. Sounds like you got "Bike Blocked" yesterday.
I left work yesterday planning on getting in 20 miles, felt the wind, looked at the trees swaying, thought to myself, "This sucks." Went home and cracked a beer.
