I do engineering/assembly validation for a major bike company...in wisconsin...pretty easy to figger out.
the plus side: work from 6a-2p every day. so i have all afternoon to ride/f-off. have the kettle moraine mtb trail right on my way home and sweet roads all around. get to try out new stuff. sweet, sweet job for a bike guy.
downside: i live 30 miles from work and commuting by bike at 4am is pretty unappealing.
But I love my job!

Civil engineering design technician...
I work in a mid-sized engineering consulting firm and have been there for 18 years or so....A major recession has a way of making you stick around longer then planned...
I'm basically a jack of all trades type guy at the office. If they need something designed and/or drawn up I'll do it...
Actually life is pretty cushy here with enough time to surf BF and lots of other bike porn...

You're all a bunch of Johnny Lunchpails.
If you were like me you'd own the company.
Now I've got to go and meet that Simpson fellow, I've been hearing good things about him.

I like this thread.
The equivalent over at our 50+ forum would be something like this:
-- retired.
--retired.
--retired.
--ROAD (retired on active duty, for you military types).
--consulting (between jobs).
As for me: gastroenterologist.
I've heard almost all of them: to go where no man has gone before, getting in 18 holes a day like Tiger Woods, one Ahole looking at another, etc. etc., I'm depressed and going out riding now.

Schooled in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Now I'm a metrologist. That means I use big machines to measure things and get paid to do it. So if you pay me enough, I can tell you how small your johnson is, accurate to the 0.04 nanometer.

I'm a controller firmware engineer for data storage systems. Developing everything in C++ from SCSI-level to high level applications in an RTOS environment.
I tell my dad I'm a software engineer. I tell my mom I work with computers. It's easier that way.

First Class Petty Officer in the Navy. My Rate (Job) is an Interior Communication Electrician, Basically we control and maintain the Phones, TV, and just about any other internal Comm device inside a Ship. I am more focused on the land based broadcast TV and Radio Side. I worked at a TV studio for the American Forces Network in Italy for 4 years (that's were I picked up cycling). I plan on going back after my current tour on the USS Enterprise is up.
