Ti rules. I have about 1500 miles on my newish Lynskey, and so far it has exceeded all of my expectations. Lifetime warranty, American made.

Can't beat the look of Ti, no doubt. Nice ride Pow.

Pcad, read somewhere you added a Moto Fly Ti to your stable this year? I'm picking up my Moto Immortal Spirit in the morning, and am looking at a future MTB. How do you like the Fly?

I never miss another opportunity to post my Fly Ti picture. And yes I love the bike. It totally, utterly ROCKS.

Nice scoot .............. for the 100th time. :)

BTW, that may be the longest seatpost I've ever seen. :D

Don't blame me, they keep asking for it Brad.

400mm post, it's well above the min. insertion point. I don't think seat posts get much longer than that. But the bike does fit me like a glove with a 120-130mm stem (still experimenting with that), the bar ends and the longer post.

long and thin goes right in, but short and thick does the trick.

Why thanks Pcad. At 32, it's my pre-midlife crisis bike.

Oh Botto, you cynical old man. With W at the helm, we're in good hands.:thumb:

At 32, the term MLC shouldn't even be on your radar. 50 is the new MLC boundary line, right P?

I had a MLC at 37, and recently at 44. I'm hoping to have another MLC this winter during group buy season.

patentcad 06-01-08 05:30 PM

Mid Life Crisis are used by men of all ages for Schwag Procurement Justification. There is no age limit. You can have a MLC @ 29 if it gets you a new road bike. As you get older that can be escalated to things like Corvettes, boats and aircraft, depending on your financial means.

Remind your wife of that if she complains. That new Cannondale is the Bargain Basement Mid Life Crisis Solution.

Let us know how that goes over for you. My Mom is a divorce attorney in NJ by the way.

bigtea 06-01-08 06:13 PM

Powpow...that is one very nice rig. I came oh so close to buying a Lynskey...but my mid life crisis passed about a decade ago. I am in the "OMG retirement is a few years out, do I have enough money" stage of life.

Pcad,

Did you ever find anyone else that bought the BD Ti Hardtail? I was thinking about the great bike and great deal, but have enough problems getting miles on my road bike. Figured there would be more?

These were also made of Ti.

I have seen posts by 2-3 other recent purchasers, everybody seems to love the bike. What's not to love? It's a responsive, light, fast, Ti hard tail. Floats over rough terrain compared to every other hard tail I've had.

I prefer it for longer rides, and I go back and forth between CF and Ti daily."

Thanks Eliza:-)

Have you ever owned a Ti bike? Ridden one? Seen one in person?

I see them all the time parked in front of coffee shops and out on the road - usually under older fat guys and sometimes under trophy wives/girlfriends in tow. I have a couple of steel bikes and a couple of aluminum ones that I share with my sons. We're pretty close in size. Do you know anything about engineering physics? What do you know of current product design and process engineering involving composites and light metals? What do you know about extrapolating from limited personal experiences to naive generalizations?
