What do you know of current product design and process engineering involving composites and light metals? What do you know about extrapolating from limited personal experiences to naive generalizations?

p.s. I'm not a fat old guy and I don't have a trophy wife, but I have no problem with them or what they ride. |

Unless the price is reduced to something affordable (I know the Motobecane Fly Ti is a great deal comparatively, still too expensive), I'll stick with my Aluminum Giant. I'll need to test ride a Ti bike before I go spouting off about how the cost/benefit ratio is wack.

For being a road nazi, I am very surprised your stem is a positive rise. Made me laugh man. I know you had a bad back and comfort equals speed etc. :)
Flip this. |

I'd like to publicly thank the guy on the Ti Seven tri bike, who pulled a bunch of us from mile 75 to mile 80 on yesterday's century. He was fast. And he said he was in his mid-50s. About 15 years younger than Pcad.
It had to be the Ti. I can only aspire. |

False.
Provide some pithy A is to B as C is to D thing like: Carbon : Debbie Gibson :: Ti : Deborah Gibson |
The analogy was terrible. It needed no expounding.

anybody know anything about the Ti road bikes BD has going on right now?
|
damn, i killed the thread... somebody has got to know something about these ti road bikes at BD? pretty please?
|
Pcad likes his mountain version (Moto Fly Ti). I just bought a Moto Immortal (carbon) and love it. Surely the Ti road offerings are the same story, namely awesome value, "generic" frame, and hate BD/love BD drama...
My experience has been a good one. |

[QUOTE=powpow;6798239]Ti rules. I have about 1500 miles on my newish Lynskey, and so far it has exceeded all of my expectations. Lifetime warranty, American made.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3064/...4ce08b3e_b.jpg[/QU HOLY CRAP that is sweet! which model Lynskey is that? |
Thanks Ron. It's a R120 Houseblend (stock) frame, size Medium. I couldn't afford custom (hence the spacers), and got a good deal on the frame. I purchased the frame directly from Lynskey, and they were a pleasure to deal with throughout the process.
|
The Easton wheels have to go pp. You need Ksyrium clinchers and Zipp Tubies. Get back to us with photos once you've installed them. That Lynskey bike is the utter, complete, friggin SCHWAG.
