Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Somebody shoot me. Ti or CF bullets only please, as usual. In this case, try to make them Ti.

Yup ... all things being equal ... Ti has the ride characteristics of a steel frame. Steel and Ti feel the same (again, everything being equal - which the never are) due to the fact that both materials can be practically shaped into small diameter tubes, hence the somewhat more cushy ride quality.

Another captain ******* post from patentcad, go figure... Guess a new enthusiast should look to other forums for good cycling info?

Come on now, Nikolai. While new to the forums, surely you've picked up on Pcad's style, haven't you? It's not like he doesn't post once every 45 seconds with either a self-deprecating or sarcastic remark!

Hang in there, do a search of Pcad's responses, and then check back. It's all good.

I prefer it for longer rides, and I go back and forth between CF and Ti daily.
Oh...another footnote regarding WHY I had to buy a new bike. I was rear-ended by a car and my bike was totaled. Fortunately I wasn't, but I did sustain two vertebrae fractures. And yes, ti provides Lexus-like comfort in comparison to anything else I considered. (Please, save the "it depends on how a bike is built" lectures..it's a Litespeed for heaven's sake). My back thanks me every every day I ride.

True, I definitely do appreciate the limitless dry humor on this forum... And Pcad does contribute in that regard significantly!

Ti rules. I have about 1500 miles on my newish Lynskey, and so far it has exceeded all of my expectations. Lifetime warranty, American made.

Can't beat the look of Ti, no doubt. Nice ride Pow.

Pcad, read somewhere you added a Moto Fly Ti to your stable this year? I'm picking up my Moto Immortal Spirit in the morning, and am looking at a future MTB. How do you like the Fly?

Nice scoot .............. for the 100th time.

BTW, that may be the longest seatpost I've ever seen.

Don't blame me, they keep asking for it Brad.

400mm post, it's well above the min. insertion point. I don't think seat posts get much longer than that. But the bike does fit me like a glove with a 120-130mm stem (still experimenting with that), the bar ends and the longer post.

long and thin goes right in, but short and thick does the trick.

At 32, the term MLC shouldn't even be on your radar. 50 is the new MLC boundary line, right P?
