I'm still shaving, but not nearly as often. During the summer I'll usually do it every second day, but now it's more like once a week. In the summer I keep them shaved for the look, which isn't a real concern in the winter. But everytime it starts to grow back, it just looks dirty and starts to itch... so I pull out the razor.
I razor shave from the underwear area down, and then use an electric shaver (like for head hair) to keep everything else trim, without the trouble of shaving those hard-to-see areas.
In the end, it's a personal choice... not a real matter of performance or function, but of your individual style and attitude towards cycling. I wouldn't have even considered it a couple years ago, but now it just seems natural and not femine at all.

I am a member of a cycling club and I must say that I am the only member who's hairy and doesn't shave. What is the point of shaving, besides looking good, does it improve cycling???

When I first started it, a fellow at my LBS told me that, technically, there is no actual advantage, but it sure makes you feel like there is.
I have to concur.
The first time I tried it, I felt like I was flying.

I haven't shaved my legs since I played high school football back in '77 (it was either shave or have all the hair yanked out when I took off the tape). I've decided that real men don't shave their legs. Besides, I like picking all the dead flies out of the hair on my legs when I'm done riding!
In addition to all that, don't you (we) wear leg warmers in winter anyway? This kinda begs the question of why one would need to shave ones legs if ones legs are not visible and, since [they are] covered with nylon/lycra/gortex, etc., not likely to add drag to ones ride anyway.
Bring on the epil stop!

When you crash, you have the possibility of grinding gravel and other bits of road debris into your legs. If there is no hair, the possibility of infection is lower and it is easir to find the bits of whatever and get them out.

I have skin problems : if I don´t try to keep body hair short then aplying meds, body milk etc is a messy wastefull hassle , tried putting sun block on a hairy leg or arm lately ? it´s a pain .
