Glueless Patch

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No, not the ones you stick on your tube.

I've been battling a sore back since mid-February. I thought if I just HTFU and ride my bike, it would go away. It didn't. Saw the doc today and scheduled an MRI, and he also gave me a scrip for Lidoderm, these self-sticking patches embedded with Lidocain. I stuck a couple of them on my lower back tonight and did my local club ride. Wow, they really helped. I even won a TL sprint (although most of the big dogs were at a crit), but point being I haven't been able to put the hammer down in a while without serious lower back unhappiness. This stuff rocks!

Hmmm, maybe I can sell a few for $20 a pop at mile 100 on the B2B...

No, this started from weightlifting, a long time before I got on the bike for the season.
