Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I usa a Specialized shoe in a size 42. I need a 1/2 size up. Is Sidi sizing on par with Specialized?

Pretty much. I think most will strongly recommend trying a shoe before buying, though.

I wear a 45.5 Sidi and a 44.5 Specialized. Right foot is 10.5 US and the left is 11 US if that helps at all.

No such luck in the woods up here in VT. Besides. I'm looking for a cheap buy on eBay.

I have a Size 47 Specialized S-Works on my left foot, and a Size 48 Sidi Ergo2 on my right. The Sidi feels somewhat more snug, especially in the toe box. In fact, the Sidi had been rubbing my great toe on the left, which is why I am experimenting with wearing different shoes on my left and right feet respectively.

The S-Works is lighter (I think, I will need to weigh them), and has better ventilation. The Sidi I think has better overall fit, save for the toe rubbing.

The ultimate decision will be which pair I wear on the Climb to Kaiser.

Get to a store and try them out so you know how the sizing works, then you can order effectively online.

My Sidi 42's are a little smaller, a little narrower than my Specialized 42's.
