Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes the chain broke and managed to get jammed between the front tire and fork, at the top. Looks like the chain also but a big gash in the brake wall of my front wheel.

Really, wow. I wonder if the chain was incorrectly installed, especially if it broke at the connecting link or something. You're really lucky that you didn't get hurt worse.

Bikes: My bicycles?

I was on a steep little hill, out of the saddle and the chain broke. Looks like the chain got jammed at the top of my fork, braking the front wheel. The whole bike lurched forward quickly and my face it the pavement.

Should of had that chain changed, was meaning to have it looked at since for a few days it was auto shifting up on most hills.
That happened to me while I was on my beach cruiser. I went right over. Not fun. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Those Campy 10s chains need close attention paid when connecting the chain. If you don't have the campy tool, the newest 10s compatible FULL sized Park works good.

I am thinking that win/loss record isnt going to get any better the more times you try it.
