Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Another Craigslist Gem

well, my gf's bike (formerly my first bike) was stolen from her apartment, and my efforts to recover said bicycle have thus far been fruitless. however, today while cruising the local cragslist as a last ditch effort to find the bike, i just found this little gem in the cincinnati craigslist. complete with aero wheels and 175mm crank:

https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/bik/726264269.html

priceless.

I'm not sure the aeolus tubulars are appropriate for that application.

not to mention the fact that riding for a few minutes behind this monster would be the equivalent of running for weeks in the streets of beijing.

i drafted a dump truck once. smelled pretty bad.

The ones in my neck of the woods are fun to draft behind... Until the cow manure dries and starts flying off the treads.

haha, better yet:

one of our races this year was around a whole bunch of farms early in the spring. the roads had been littered with a thin crust of manure and dirt before the race. thankfully it rained right before and during the race. good, right? no. that just turned the dirt/maure compound into mud, and that salty flavor that got flicked onto our mouths from the wheel in front was little bits of cow poop. gross.

There is probably a listing for a tractor somewhere on Craigslist with a picture of a CF bike with aero wheels and a lot of people on TractorForums who are just as confused as us.

I am confident that unless you want to go no faster than about 17mph, drafting that would only result in a leisurely ride involving dodging leaking oils and breathing in diesel fumes.

Frankly, that is actually kinda appealing to me as I grew up on a farm. It actually appears to be a pretty clean looking Allis-Chalmers.

Just the idea of a tractor forums spending countless hours debating the comforts of the seat makes me laugh...

We are rediculous...

I wonder if they used glue or tape for the rear tubulars.
