Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'ma try this concept, if it hasn't been done already.

SUNDAY:

Saturday-Specialized Toupe saddle. $150.
Replaced it on my bike and took off the fixer, ie, mount for my Topeak wedge, and when I was putting it on the new saddle, somehow stripped the plastic part of the fixer. So, I will be shopping for a new fixer. Does it ever end?
What fun would that be, eh?

Just used it to clean the bike and wax it and lube the chain, it makes life easier and makes the bike look even better when I have it on the stand. I will be storing it there as well to keep it safe and off the ground.
I got the PCS-9 at the LBS, they gave it to me for a super price, it's really solid and you can adjust the angle of the clamp-great stand.

New chain. Does it count if it's just a maintenance item?

Saturday...

Bought two dura-ace chains and 2 Ultegra cassettes...Went to the PBK site and got sucked in by the prices...

To offset I put a Specialized S-Works helmet and Jett saddle on ebay...

I know the chain and cassette aren't true shwagg, but hey it's something...

Wait! I also ordered a pair of Oakley Radar Pitch prescription glasses on Friday....

Saturday:

1. Bought theses glasses

Tifosi Gavia Interchangeable T-I370

Love them, couldn't stomach spending over $100 on sunglasses when I sometimes leave them at the coffee shop..

2. Bought 2 polar water bottles, love them. Kept drink cold for like 4 hours.
3. Bought Specialized Gel Gloves
4. Bought some Powerbar Gels.

I think thats it!

If this post was created last week, I'd have been able to contribute, in the form of Sidi Dominators, a mindblowing upgrade over the $40 Performance commuter/soccer-style shoes I had before.

Wait a few months until my 1000 is a TT bike.
