brake problems....

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

brake problems....

My brakes have been acting really wierd lately, whenever i pull on my brake levers my brakes stay stuck in that position. So whenever im on a ride and i use my brakes, i have to get off my bike to pull my brakes apart. Anyone know what i can do to fix them. I've tried oiling them, That didnt work.

Check to make sure any bolts aren't too tight. Maybe something is too tight it's preventing the brake from
'returning' to being open, also make sure that the brake line isn't cut or kinked or anything.

How old are the cables? Sounds like you might have gunk built up in the cable housing. Replacement is the solution.
