I always ask if they have what they need. Usually they do. Every now and again, they don't.
I don't carry tubes just patches, CO2, and pump. If I can get 'em back up and rolling with what I have then, fine.
If they have something beyond what I carry.. I'm liking the kill and eat solution. Any recipes?

I've given away a lot of tubes, some to novices, several to experienced riders. I would want someone to help me.

I always do the same thing for anyone broken down on a trail. Ask them if they have everything they need to fix the problem. If they don't I stop and help. If they do I keep riding.
Also, I keep a patch kit with me so I don't have to give up my tube. I don't want to end up walking either.

I'm getting a funny image in my mind of the the rider standing at the side of the road, looking first at the CO2 in his hand, then to the figure riding away and saying to himself "what the f*** am I supposed to do with this? If I had an inflator, I wouldn't be here now!"
As for me, I'd help out if I had the supplies to do so and the aid was needed. --In this case, I'd be wondering about his "buddies" sitting around waiting for him.
