Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A friend let me try the Selle SMP Evolution but I stopped at my LBS and they measured my sit bones and showed I would need the 146 Inform saddle. When I tried the SMP, I found my sit bones on the outer corners so I would probably need the Selle Pro that is a 146 width. My LBS is having a big sale this W/E so I might try the Inform with the 90 day guarantee. If you look at the research Bontrager did and found the real pressure areas to make the Inform finally a designed piece of equipment.

BTW, I have been using the Race Lux on my road and mountain bike for 2 1/2 years now but it is about a 146 width although it flexes like crap I will report back when I try the Bontrager Inform saddle.

I had the Race Lux on my bike and it is pretty flexy, my ass was used to it though and it was comfortable for transporting myself around campus and stuff. Now my Rolls feels rock-hard and unyielding in comparison.

In all my years of riding, I've never had a problem with the bat and ball set. It's always the hiney. Plow pulling man hips is the cause, requiring a wider than normal saddle. Once the sit-upon is matched with it's appropriate saddle, I can pedal away in comfort.

The Inform R didn't do its thing for my bottom. It was a hatchet from the moment I sat on it and 30 miles later over 3 days. I swapped it out for a WTB Rocket V which looked intriguing and felt good right from the start and 20 miles later. Hope it continues. fyi, I did get measured on the Inform stool.

The bontrager saddle (no idea on model) on my mtb is the only saddle I ever broke. One of the rails sheared off right behind the seatpost mount. I ride the bike only on the street and never abused it, and I only weight 175, so I wonder how it happened. I feared for my junk when it happened.
