Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The 2008 SL is the same as the 2006-07 ES, the ES is no longer made.

Or almost the same, I believe the new SL lacks the Titanium rear axle of the ES.

For starters they don't make the ES anymore. SL is the new ES, and now there is a SL premium. But the difference was the color (silver vs. black w/red spoke), a few grams, and a little bit stiffer. Oh at the ES came with wheelbags.

Ok, heres the deal. Out of town today. Wife lost my front wheel somehow (don't ask). Had the Ksyrium SL wheelset. Called an LBS where I was headed and had a relative pickup a new front wheel. Turns out the new wheel is an ES, but is almost identical to my SL rear? Carbon fiber hub, black with one red spoke, etc.....Would rather have matching set so trying to figure out if I stay long the ES or SL??
