Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

how to transport

I use a blender at home, and then a funnel to pour my "shake" into a water bottle. I then transport the water bottle with ice packs. Some times these go into a cooler with my lunch, sometimes they go into small school-type lunch bags.

I like having them ready for when I get off the bike, or just out of them GYM.

I was carrying them with me to work but then it dawned on me to just keep a supply of juice and whey at work along with a wide mouth water bottle for mixing.

How about you guys? Always drink 'm at home? Ever transport?

ON, 100% Gold Standard, Chocolate or Ice Cream. The choc is tasty, the ice cream mixes nicely with cereal. The small bins last me well past expiration.

However, I only supplement if I'm feeling overtrained or sore. I might have some before going to bed if I worked out 6 hours or more that day. Otherwise, the more I train the more I eat, which brings along all the protein I need.

I've also used it when I've wanted to shed a little fat while staying at a normal protein intake, but it's been a while since I've done that. It can be useful when returning after a layoff, for whatever reason.

I try to maintain about 40g/day, which is a little more than I think I need. That's not hard as part of a 3500 kcal/day diet and most days I get much more than that.

40 grams?

I heard you need .75 grams per bod weight just to fight muscle mass loss from aging. I'm consumming whey more protein than you. (every pun intended) I weigh 215, down from 225 this winter. I'm headed to 193 (I hope) and am in a "cutting" phase 9to the best of my ability) ran 2 miles at lunch, by weeks end I will have biked 135 miles and logged and 4 hours of weight training not including weekends, just weekdays. The biking has been great, it's 3 hrs of cardio in a single day by time I get home with m 44 mile round trips.
