55/Rad is an upstanding guy, it takes a brave man to submit a PSA showing the carnage a garage door can do to a bike left on a roof rack when backing it in.
Remember to pay it forward......

Agreed....but then again that's why some of us are here...

...maybe that's why I didn't have any flats for over 3 years....at least that what I like to think.

Personally, props to rad. I think his responses in archived threads are what made me finally join a few years back. I may never have said it publically, but thanks rad.

Little Darwin 08-07-08 09:56 AM

Cheers to Rad... and the best part is there are others like him lurking around too.

I have been the recipient of a few goodies... maybe not woth as much on a $ scale, but appreciated just as much, and given just as generously.

There is a sense of community here. It comes out in the sharing, and in the bickering. ;)

Its actually a bit more sad than that. Rad is suffering from an acute guilty conscience and is compensating. FWIW, Rad now has to wear an electronic tether because he was caught lurking by one of the local school yards for the third time (3 strike law) trying to tempt small children to ride on the handlebar of one of his fancy road bikes.
Rad's gesture to help others is to compensate for his deep sense of remorse for his uncontrollable urges. Many believe this compulsive behavior is the underpinning for his OCP obsession with bicycles. The bicycle and child infatuation is also a suspected linkage…riding his bicycle promotes regression to a simpler time when Rad was a child. Now due to new technology based upon GPS, whenever Rad rides too close to the local grade school, his electronic bracelet is energized and he is mildly electrocuted. Sadly some close to Rad say he rather enjoys the pain which is another suspected linkage to cycling.

Rad's a class act. Not only has he organized many a local BF group ride, but also he has opened up his garage and tool box to me on occasion and I've came away with rebuilt bikes, brake levers, stems, and bars.

Viva Rad!

My only advice to you if you are small and kinda cute, tread very carefully.
When you ride with Rad, do you notice he tends to draft you a lot? ;)

UPDATE::::

I have put on the saddle and and the new tires, and went for a quick ride.

Only a 10 miler but I could quickly feel my sit bones were in rejoice for me not treating them so cruelly.
It was a little worn so I do not have to break it in as much which is also great. I amy need to do some height and angle adjustments when I find some time, that should be no problem though.
They should sale all saddles pre-ridden like them do pre-wash for pants.

Anyways, for the tires I went out and put in my presta tubes that my bike gave me for free for screwing something up and pumped up those tires. They are red Parastacer Stadium Pro. My previous tires were no-name, so obviously there was a large upgrade here.
I was not expecting any difference but as I went out on the road with 110/120 psi besides my old 80/100 psi I felt like I was flying. It was trully exceptional ride.
My current riding record is slightly over 30 miles and tomorrow with these new toys I am going for 50.

Really again 55 you are the man and have made my cycling experience go out the roof. I was already hooked and now I will probably being 2-a-days, too 8,000 miles a year type of dude.Hopefully this year I will attempt a century or a few races before I put this bike as a back-up as I will hopefully have enough money to buy a bike like you guys own when the 2010's come out.

cheers, 30
