The only thing IMO that would put your rig over the top is a SRM crank. Then every area of the bike is full on drool....

Thanks, I am still kinda holding out for the Vector, or I may just go with a PT. Just to keep the weight down in the current form, so race spec would stay light. I just weighed my chainrings. The big ring is stupid heavy. 98g for the Stronglite 50t, and 29g for the Extrlite 34t. A KCNC ring should be 85g for the big one. I doubt I will find a lighter small ring. Most are in the 30s. So do you guys like the chopped rings? Should save me 13g with the KCNC big ring.

No way Rotor cranks are mad heavy.

Though are you okay with the weight increase?

No, I would race w/o it anyway so a PT or a Vector would be the ticket so I don't have to change the spider.

Homerun...also cool hood position..:thumb:

SA, the only thing I don't really care for is the aesthetic of the KCNC ring. A black chain would look pretty cool too.

Oops, took a closer look at your post, and it's a chop. I wouldn't get those rings if I were you.

Yeah I wish the logos were not so obnoxious. I am thinking of that or Fibre-Lyte aero rings. I am afraid of their lifespan however.

Silvercivic27 07-08-11 07:58 AM

I hear ya. I saw your other post in the ww thread too. I personally think those aero rings look kinda goofy, and I've wondered about longevity of the carbon teef and how smood the shifting would be. There are some things worth a couple extra grams to me, so I guess I'm not a WW!

Soloist Assassin 07-08-11 08:01 AM

Yeah, IDK. I like aero rings, just not sure if I like the KCNC logos. I need some new rings though, my gold Extralite small ring annoys me.

Love the new S2. Hot! KCNC chainrings? Not. Too garish.

Don't do it. The logos are too much.

One of my favorite bikes on BF. I would go with http://fairwheelbikes.com/fibrelyte-...cd-p-1069.html

The KCNC is just too much

Steve90068 07-08-11 09:10 AM

and if weight isnt a huge issue, the red/black - Far and Near chainrings would look AMAZING on your bike http://fairwheelbikes.com/far-and-ne...cd-p-1066.html

That's funny. It's the same pic from earlier. I did however rotate the bars slightly up. It helps with my healing collar bone.

Yeah, I wish the logos weren't so big, and ugly. I really want some aero rings, and they are light to boot. I thought about getting them, and having them re-anodized over the logo, for a ghost effect logo.

I am actually considering both of those. The Fibre-lytes just don't seem like a reliable choice, and I am not sure if the red F&N would look good or not. If it matches good then I agree, I think it would look good, but chances are it's probably a different red, and might look dumb then. I wish they made them in all black, and I would be all over it.

Agree with you on both fronts.

another option are the Tune rings...more durable than fiber-lytes (pretty much anything is) http://fairwheelbikes.com/tune-alumi...gs-p-3061.html

either way, i absolutely love your bike

Thanks. BTW the F&N rings aren't real heavy. 34.2grams/86.1grams They are quite stiff apparently.

I've always had good luck with the standard KCNC rings, that might be an option too.

Hi,

Yeah, they're loud, yes, it's hot.

I have heard many a good things about the C24 Dura-Ace wheelset. I know they are slightly more heavy than its competition, but the hubs are more than supposed to make for it. How do you like them?

hmai18 07-12-11 10:34 AM

I scored a great deal on eBay for them, so I can't complain. I'm not sure what wheels you're comparing them to, but the weight difference is probably negligible and the lightweight rims make these feel incredibly light. The hubs are buttery smooth and combined with latex tubes, the ride is incredibly smooth, even over less-than-ideal road surfaces.

Sometimes I worry about what will happen if I total one of the rims, but they've held up well so far. If I had to do it again, I'd probably go for a set of handbuilts on HED C2 rims with nice hubs like the Alchemy ELF/ORC or King R45, but either way, my wheels aren't what's holding me back.
