Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't think we can consider bikes that aren't posted by the owner.

I'd agree with that. It's supposed to be 'your bike'.

All the same that Pinny is hot though. I normally don't like the wavy tubes/forks and whatnot, but for some reason the color scheme and the lightweight wheels do it for this particular one.

Nice bike. Shifter cables look a bit long and you should never post hot r not pics with a seat bag attached.

ravenmore: Seatbag? Didn't know that was a faux pas. My bad. I'll take some new shots when the new seat etc. arrives tomorrow. It'll be nice to have the Tacx Tao bottle cages instead of these metal ones.

mastronaut: Looks cool! How's that frond mudguard doing its job? :-P

I posted a bike at WeightWeenies once with a seat bag on it and they ripped on me pretty good. Its not so much a faux pas but just one of the things you do to make a bike pic look good.

By the way, am I the only person who doesn't like that Pinarello? I normally like the Prince model, but that flat black is second only to the Ronald McDonald paint scheme Valverde's riding in the ugly factor. Undoubtedly, it's a fantastic bike with the Super Record and LW's, but the overall scheme is too 90's era Batman for my tastes.

I agree, the Pinarello does nothing for me. It's another factory built, over the top piece of "corporate marketing" that only the privileged few can afford and only a few should ever ride.
I'd like to see a thread that did not include "factory built" machines like the Pinarello and others. It's easy to buy a "hot" or ultra cool "ready made/ready to ride" bike, be it $1000 or $5000.
The challenge comes when you start with a frame only and build "from the ground up" to a complete bike and what the finished product rides/looks like. Price has no relation to the "heat" when you're doing the build yourself as long as the project is well thought out and the complete package "works".
Here in Portland OR there are folks rockin' some bad ass 105 equiped bikes that they built for probably under $700 as well as some RED and Campy equiped heat missles and other dialed machines that are pure hottness and cost well into the $1000s. The cool part is they were all built/personalized from the frame up.

Just my opinion.

My hot picks are:

"The" Moots w/Lightweights
Black RS2
Blue Merckx
Raleigh Pathracer/Clubman
Cilo
Black LOOK 595
The Ravenmore "black beauty"
Red Serotta
LOOK 481
White Tsunami
Lynskey Custom w/Pulsions

All well thought out, beautifully executed and are obviously "riders".

Bring 'da heat!

because i got bored, another build. Carbon Fiber Frameset (factory direct ), Cane Creek IS2 Headset, SRAM Rival Groupset (50/34, 11-26), Karbona KSP-18 Seat Post & Ryno Bottle Cages, Reynolds Ouzo Race Stem/Bar Combo, Specialized Alias Saddle, Spinergy XAero Lite Wheelset, Vredestein Fortezza Tires, Shimano PD-5610 Pedals (Soon to be Look Keo's).

no telling how long this build will last 'til i get bored again. guess i should put this much effort into my current street rod builds. but hey, I got 7years to finish those two, retirement gift for my father and one for myself.
