Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pinarello=Hot but can you get that stem with a white stripe instead of red so it flows better with that seatpost?

This was my very first tubular installation, I glued the tires on to the rims without adding the valve extenders, I didn't want to take the tires off, I tried to use the Zipp extender to pick up the tread of the tire's valve stem with no lucky, I took the wheels to my LBS, they managed to put a pair Topeak extenders on them. I will try the 17+- stem next time, the position maybe too aggressive for me.

Don't want to catch any side winds, plus I got a really good deal on this brand new 303 Firecrest set.

I was thinking the red stripes on the handlebar and stem match the red stripe of the Fizik saddle.

Agreed. He could of just posted the text "Pinarello Prince"

Finished it. Don't mind the periscope, it will come down once my flexibility comes back a bit more. For now it's all pleasure cruise style!

Long legs, short torso?

Bike is hot, nicely done. My only niggle is the white hoods. Black would look better IMO.

Short femurs

Those hoods are on their last leg. Probably going to switch back to black...or maybe red.

S2's if that color scheme are always in the hot range for me...Love the crankset, maybe black or red hoods, and perhaps the wheels are a little busy, but then again, maybe not....HOT at any rate..

This combo is on the heavy side, plus I can't use the combo if I switch frames.

This isn't weight weenies, if it was, it would be the "HEAVY OR NOT THREAD", it's all about the looks here....and if your worried about a few grams, and transferring to another frame then wouldn't you be rocking 3T carbon post, stem and handlebars? Interesting...

Very hot! So you took the logos off with polishing and bought some new ones and put them back on? I am working on a ti frame.

wrong. Even though there is plenty of evidence to the contrary already in this thread, I will repost a couple of my own for a refresher:

1986 Serotta Nova, repaint in 2005, Campagnolo mixed group, Campy Daytona/Ambrosio Excellight wheels

2011 Kirk Frameworks JKS-Classic Terraplane, currently pending paint. Complete photos to come April 2012.

And here's one seriously hot Kirk:

I dig it, and I'm not typically a fan of the French vintage gear, but this one is very nicely put together. Can't tell if it is the photo or not, but the bars look ever so slightly angled down in the drops.

Far far far too many wheel decals for my tastes. If you just had one "Novatech" on each wheel, maybe just on the drive side even, then it'd be far better.

.
Thanks, cuda2K,
Handlebar is parallel to the ground at the bottom. It's looks a little tilted down because of the slope of the driveway and the bike being just a little bit offfrom parallel with the garage door.
I tried to make the build as interesting as I can by finding the highest grade/model French components from the early to mid 80's period like full Mavic SSC drivetrain mixed in with Spidel/Stronglight other bits.
I did make a compromise period-wise with the pedals and saddle They are new designs from Look Keo and Gilles Berthoud, because I wanted my riding interface with the bike to be close to the best I can find today.

This^ for the cervelo, but potential w/o those wheels and white hoods. The wheels make me dizzy sitting still, would probably hypnotize everyone that looks at it while on the move.
