Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hot, nice work on the shot. I have a feeling you're not done yet though -- just a target of opportunity...

Hot. The first time I've said that with a Giant. It could be hotter.

What's up with the valve cap?

Heh forgot about that. The mechanic that helped put it together was messing with me and put it on joking he was adding weight. I don't really care about valve caps one way or another - usually leave them off just for simplicity's sake.

Heh - well don't hold your breath then, because it's probably not going to happen. These parts went on because they were what I had to work with and even though they don't match they are all nice components. I've never understood the mentality of making all the components match anyway. For instance I don't like Sram brakes. Not a big fan of the current Dura Ace crank either. I'm going to put Planet X brakes on this bike at some point.

Not needed on Presta valves. They don't need a cap to keep dirt and junk out of the valve like Schraeders do. As I understand it those caps are just there to keep the valve tip from puncturing the tube when it's all rolled up in the box.

Have to disagree, would be so much hotter with all-black tires.
