Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

On the trainer, and went on the rollers today, as the stitches came out on Friday. Bike checked out OK, and I wanted to test it on the road. Mrs. LAJ nixed that.

I've seen some photoshops in this thread but I seem to recall there being a thread for that (photoshopping parts on bikes). If anyone knows what I'm talking about could you kindly direct me to that thread? I have searched high and low but can't find it.

There is no specific thread for it. Are you needing something done or are you wanting to post an image you have done?

Thanks for clearing that up, bianchi.

I wanted to see how my bike would look with a black saddle and black bar tape. Not sure if I should be posting it here because it's not particularly "hot"

I like it. Cut the steerer tube. The dark door with the white bike works.

Cheers mate. I don't like the stack of spacers on top of the stem either, but not sure how long I'll be using this bike. Might sell it off a bit down the road or give it to my old man, and he could use the longer steerer tube.

The seat height looks questionably low.
Cheers

Yeah I think the frame is larger-than-ideal for me. I feel a bit stretched out on it and the aesthetics of it bug me! But I can get by.

This was my first road bike purchase ever last year and it's what the salesman thought I should get when he sized me up. I didn't know any better. Will definitely try a size down next time.

It's not just the pedals, remove the warning stickers, the reflector on the wheel and seatpost (and bars?), and stage the bike properly before posting a pic.
I actually like the all black look though.

I like it. Saddle is pretty low but the bike is nice. You actually staged it even though you weren't particularly looking for votes. I personally think the white saddle and tape look good with this. The black tape and saddle might throw off the "flow."

Haha, yeah. They were obviously removed before I took it on the road.

I got 50% off because he couldnt sell them, a bargain imo. Nice little touch to a close to all black bike. Fits with bright helmet and glasses.
