People are crazy... You might want new rings for the crank too, cause CX gears and such.

And for me, SO close to being hot. Longer stem + slammed would be nice, but not everyone can do that. So at least cut the stack above the stem.

Going to ride it like this for a while to make sure it fits me right before I go and chop the thing. But it will happen.

As for the eventual cross frame, I think a 105 compact will be fine on flat converted rail trails of gravel, so maybe not exactly cross but you get what I mean.

Got it back early. Hopefully much much better than before.. Thanks for all your advice guys. Now I can save for a new cyclocross frame to put the old 105 gruppo, aksium rims and drop bar on. Nothing wrong with getting an extra bike out of all this trouble....

By the way, how do you post pics so they are bigger in your posts, I can't seem to get it to work even though I can in other forums.

Looks better. Does it actually work for you?

You mean by lowering the bars? I test rode it and it feels fine so far, not uncomfortable at all. Longer rides will tell though. We'll see.

He was looking for suggestions in the first place. After a collection of thoughts, he went and upgraded the parts he wanted to. I doubt it was because of peer pressure within the Hot R not, but it may have influenced his purchase. Regardless, nice upgrades.

I think it's great when people actually do it then post, as opposed to posting threads about it for months before we see anything.

Not exactly, I want a cyclocross bike too and figured all the old parts from this one will mean I just need to find a decent frame so it works out. But yeah :)

You should get a geekhouse cyclocross frame...c'mon, you know you want to!

Also, for big photos...just host them on another site like imgur or something, then copy the jpg url, click the img icon in the reply section, paste the url, and uncheck the "retrieve remote file" option and it should post the larger photo.

I've taken too much advice from you guys today, that's where I'm going to draw the line, unless you buy me these shorts to go with it...

The old road rig. Mostly Italian, minus the fork/ cages/ wheels. Not staged properly

Made the leap to carbon, maybe I'll post it here if it looks good when I'm finished.

Quiet, newbie. It's a reflex response in this thread.
