What do you think...keep Logo's on or take off?

My taste? I've never liked the looks of those logos, and to be honest I think they detract from the rest of your build. You know they're Enve wheels, so it doesn't matter if everyone else does. Take 'em off and/or replace them with some blacked-out decals, would be my vote.

Debadge the Enves. Just my vote for the $0.00 that it's worth.

Curious as to how to do that. Heat the decals with a hair dryer and scrape? Would something like Goo-Gone hurt the carbon fiber?

Agree. I'm not a decal fan, and that's not a pretty decal. I would either do no decals, or one black one per wheel per side.

Fairwheel stocks them FYI

slowjamz 04-07-14 02:22 AM

This page needs a bike pic: HOT, would look even hotter with black decals.

i second this question as I ordered ghost decals for my wheels so I'll be needing to take them off without messing it up. I assume you can just carefully pull them off and clean the surface with something to remove any residue left from the old sticker? Question is what to use.

I'll be posting a thread of a lot of detailed picts with all my current upgrades.

Upgrades consist of:
Dura Ace 7900 Rear Derailleur
Dura Ace 7900 Shifters
Alligator Ilink cables (HUGE thanks goes out to @primov8 for sending them to me)
Dura Ace 7900 11-28 Cassette
Lizardskins 1.8 race tape (LOVE LOVE LOVE this tape!)
Ritchey Logic Curve UD carbon bars (I REALLY like the new shape coming from the Ergo Superlogic bars I had. 1 thing I will have to get used to is the non over-sized top bar that the Logic curve bars lack that the superlogic bars had.)

As hot as that bicycle can be, which is somewhere between comfortably warm and hot to the touch. I bet it rides great.

That probably won't hurt the carbon resin on my wheels, thanks.

Keep the logo opposite the valve stem only.

SpeshulEd 04-07-14 07:37 AM

Hot as always bianchi10.

I'm also taking the logo off of my wheels, only mine are under the clear coat. It's funny to read about concerns with goo gone on carbon rims when I'm taking a sander to mind. Pictures soon!

LAJ 04-07-14 08:01 AM

Looks good, Bianchi10!

Either no logo's, or leave the ones you have on. I don't think the blacked out ones would be the look you're after.

Enve seems to recommend using a razor blade to pick up the edge, then peel it off: Decal Installation (1280 x 720) - YouTube

In the same video they recommend using acetone to clean the rim. I think using goo-gone would be fine, but you'd want to make sure to really clean it off with isopropyl alcohol or acetone. Wouldn't want any remnants left on the wheel (or if it really got everywhere...foul your brake pads)

kcollier5 04-07-14 08:35 AM

Bianchi10 (… hmm, why is your name bianchi on a C'dale? But I digress) I'd also vote to debadge the wheels. Just take a look back at the last few pages. Debadged carbon wheels look good and on your black and white bike, they'd look even better! Plus, less logos is always a good thing, isn't it? (You already know all this, we're just pushing you over the edge hopefully)

bianchi10 04-07-14 08:41 AM

Thanks guys. Still not sure if I want yo take them off.

Bianchi10 - because my first bike was a bianchi via nirone. Thought picking a name with the bike I ride would be neeeeto. After selling that and getting my Ridley, I saw how stupid that was. People know me by bianchi10 now so I might as well keep it.

I installed the green tape last week and it doesn't look the same. Black bar tape it is.

Yep, using goo-gone and wd-40 will just make extra work for ya, since they both need to be cleaned off the brake surface for sure, and if you want to re-sticker the wheels, you'll def want to prep/re-clean with rubbing alcohol/isopropyl ...

I dont agre with acetone on carbon O.O

gc3 04-07-14 10:02 PM

Just heat up the decals a little with a blow dryer before trying to peel them off carbon....

Not if you use a carbon hair dryer - then it's fine.

Which saddle is that? I thought you were on the Spec Romin Evo? Think my Toupe RBX is just about done and about to start the search...

Hot as always!

Does Park Tool make one?
