Cannondale Synapse 5 "AL"
I went to a bike shop yesterday, looking to buy my first road bike. The shop owner and I decided that a Felt Z70 was the best choice for me. Unfortunately, they were out of stock and it would be more than a month before I could get one. The owner said that they had just started carrying Cannondales, and that he could order me a 'Synapse 5 AL', which is nearly identical to the Z70 in price, geometry, and quality.
However, I can't find any mention of an aluminum version of the Synapse 5 - the closest fit I see is the Synapse 5 Sport. I don't think that's it, because the owner said this bike came in both triple and double crank options - which I don't see on the sport.
Is there actually an aluminum version of the Synapse 5 Carbon?

Not in '08.
The aluminum Synapse that gives the option of a double or a triple would be the Synapse 6 or 7.
At the $1400 price point, the Synapse 6 is most similar to the Z70 whereas the Synapse 5 (carbon) will retail at like $1900.
