You know you've reached a certain level of bike snobbery when you think too many people own Cervelos.
And trust me, it's not snobbery. I'm riding and racing the same $2000 BLUE I've been riding for almost three years now. |

Really? I'm still trying to figure out if you're kidding. Seriously, out here they're a dime-a-dozen. Your P2C is a rarity amongst the sheer number of P3's and SLC-SL's I see on a daily basis. In Southern California, Cervelo is to the cycling scene what the STi and EVO are to the car scene.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it...
What is the deal with Cervelo? |

This phenomenon is akin to Trek's dominance in the road scene a few years back when Trek 5900 was THE bike to own.

You seeing a ton of them is still due to a certain amount of selection bias.

Haven't gotten tired of the Tarmac, though, as you mostly only see those at the races with special paint jobs. |
Don't hate me because I'm popular. lol.
I still like Cervelos. A friend showed up to today's ride with a new white R3, replacing his Scott CR1. I guess he's had it for a week or so but I haven't seen him for a while. It was pretty hot. I asked him why he didn't get the R3SL, and he said he wanted that color scheme. This guy is a major motor too, he's only a 3 but at the last race he hung in for half the P/1/2 race and even made the break before he realized he was in the wrong category (because he recognized David Clinger from Velonews). :roflmao: |
I've seen maybe 2-3 other Cervelos while I'm out riding. I guess you could call me guilty of buying a "faddish" cervelo. But my choice boiled down to pure performance. I went from 5 bikes to the R3 after research, opinions, and test rides. I wanted a pure race bike, and I got it. Hate all you want on Cervelos, at the end of the day, its still and awesome rig.

The R3 is very hot.

I obviously haven't been paying enough attention... what is this S3?
Edit: Oh, Damn, that's hot. http://www.cervelo.com/models/2009/thumbnail/S3.png |

I have looked everywhere for the 3T fork. No luck. The direct sales on the 3T site never has them either.
