Cervelos...
Hey dudes.
So I was thinking i dont see too many cervelos posted up on here when people are showing stuff off. I was wondering why that is? They seem so nice and their team is mucho fabu(ha) Tell me what yall think. Also, what you think about the aero frames. I think the s3 is gonna be awesome. thanks |
We are too busy riding to post pics. ;)
Cervelo Soloist over here, with Mavic Ksyrium wheelset. (Stock wheels were Shimano R500 ugh...) |
I see plenty
|
Cervelos are good bikes, a few years ago they were the en vogue bike to have, and CSC was the hip team to follow. Today, they're both popular, but some resent their popularity and success.
They're still great bikes, but the competition has caught up and they're no longer considered vastly superior as they were 2 or 3 years ago. Also, the fact that they are pricey and hard to find make them hard a rarity to see. |

my wife rides a cervelo
|
Man move to so-cal I'm about to head out on my ride..I'll see I'd say about 10 carbon Cervelo's before noon. That's not counting the ones I'll see the rest of the day propped up at the coffee shop or down by the beach.
|
You know I thought I had something special with my Cervélo, but then I sauntered down to the local starbucks and saw THREE of lying lazily next to the entrance, with no lock.
I sold mine the next day. :thumb: |
Just a guess and correct me if I'm wrong. Cervelo does not sell any "low end" bikes compared to other well known brands. That's probably why you don't see as many. It's like Shimano, they sell really cheap stuff and really high end stuff. So in turn you see lots of Shimano compared to SRAM and Campy.

Yawn....

Go on competivtive cyclists web site and price out a new S3 with campy 11 record and a srm. It will only set you back $14k for a bicycle.
I rode a slc-sl at a 'velo demo and it was very nice but most bikes will be when set up with Red, 404's carbon bars, stem, etc. etc. Good bikes but not worth 3-4k for a stock frameset. |
I am glad I got my R3 (black with red trim) before they switched to the white color. Awesome ride. I am done buying bikes unless I crash and damage it.

If this is your standard for keeping a bike, I can only hope the Cervelo went to a rider who would actually use it.

Stay tuned. I have not yet begun to wring my hands over that major purchase decision. Can Pcad forgo esthetics for performance? My pal Don has that SLC-SL and a Porsche Convertible. I can't top the Porsche, but I sure as **** can't let Donny have a fancier bicycle than me too. F that action. It is a tangled web we weave weenies. Say that three times fast. |

There used to me more posted in past years than this year... but there's plenty on this forum (I'm guilty of two :) ).
