So I have been looking around at purchasing another road bike that is a big upgrade from my current one. I dont really have a set price range yet, manly just looking around at companies and their products. I have a good friend that rides for this company and he let me try his bike out (its a 54 and I need a 56). I got to try the carbon RC7 and then RC6AL (Aluminum) which both seemed very nice. The LBS that he purchase from and is sponsored by said they could work out a deal with me (from pricing seemed very good). So I am interested and wanted to find out if peoples though about this company and their products. I have yet to see one at a race or on the road but it seems people around me have all the same manufacturers or a small group of them.

So have you come across one before?
Likes or Dislikes about them?
Anything else that is good info.

Pretty light, stiff, and a wicked race geometry.

They used to make one of the best overbuilt aluminum race rigs for citeriums. The carbon fibre frames are every bit as awesome as the older aluminum bikes were.

You won't be disappointed.

This is purely impression, but they seem a bit overpriced. I know they're considered cheap, but they don't seem special to me. Could be wrong, haven't ridden them.

I used to have the same opinion as you, but everyone who rides one, heaps a ton of praise.

I want to switch back to my Rc.4 eventually.

One of the girls in our group has a Blue. She rides with us for her "cool down" ride.
She races every weekend is no stranger to the winners' circle. She loves her Blue.

they call themselves "Blue Competition Cycles". It seems to be pretty much who they market towards...racers. My wife is on a team who is sponsored by Blue so I see quite a few of the bikes. They are honestly pretty damn nice. Definately a race bike and well put together. the company tries to help you out as much as they can if you crash and ruin a frame. i give em a thumbs up.

That's interesting. Maybe I'll give them a ride. It's just hard for me to look at the R6 for 900 when I can get a Caad9 for 600 or a Caad8 for half that.

Yeah, I really liked both of his bikes but just had not seen them around before. With the deal he was going to give me on the RC6AL I might pick it up cause it was very light. It was actually only a little heaver then the carbon and really was not that noticeable.

Hey Chucklehead, that Celo Pac kit is kinda nolstalgic. When I was stationed at Camp Pendleton, I'd ride the northbound ride to San Clemente with them. Do the Taylormade/24HR fitness guys still show up? They used to kill me.

I actually carpool to most races with with one of those guys, and he says the team isn't even close to what it used to be. Every now and then one will show up for the ride, but it's pretty chaotic lately. It's just a big free for all.

Yeah, the $300 price hike from a year ago just for a carbon steerer is a bit of a joke. I'm afraid they might have priced themselves out of the alu/carbon market with that move. The Rc.5 that I have is the exact same frame and I got it for $550. It's a shame, because it's really a great performing bike.

Yeah, I was looking at their frames and it's just too expensive. 900 and they're starting to hit very nice carbon frames for that price point. I sort of like riding aluminum, but there is no reason in my mind to pay 900 dollars for an aluminum frame. 600 yes, 900 no.

Talked with my friend again and got some pricing on the setup I was looking into. RC6 AL

$900.00 for frame
$1,350.00 for build kit (SRAM Rival)
$ 2250 Total

I can get it for around $1500. Does that seem like a fair price? Cause I have been looking at the Specialized Tramac 2.5 which is a little more expensive but looks great.

Consider the comparable bikes in that range, and then reassess. Sounds like a good deal to me, depending on the wheels, etc... Have a look at these.

Ive been on an RC6 for almost 2 years. Great frame.. I was on an RC4 before that. I've enjoyed riding Blue's.. they've pretty much been the only constant bike in my stable.
