Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bianchi 1885 Hydrocarbon

What are your guy's thoughts on this bike? My current ride is too big... a mistake that I made based on the judgment of poorly educated bike salesmen trying to make a sale...

I am craving a celeste Bianchi and this seems to fit the bill.. I am also liking the change to campy parts. I have never ridden campy, but what do you think of veloce components?

There is also a Via Narone with Ultegra/105 mix that is enticing...

Either/or.... what are your thoughts on bianchi in general? I have an affinity for specialized bikes, and have never ridden bianchi, but I must say that their bikes are very good looking.. so wondering about functionality....

I think the first one looks nice, I'm sure it's a decent bike. Maybe you could get more for your money somewhere else but it will almost certainly not look as good.

I dunno, 1885 is a long time ago. You might want to try something newer.
