Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

-24F is as cold as I have ridden. I commuted in Wisconsin, 10 miles each way. Layers, something on your face, and mittens. I had some crummy neoprene shoe covers. Got frostbite once, the first time it was -24. Left some skin showing between my gloves and my coat for about a minute.

MEC Vuelta tights are warm enough till -10 C. I also have a pair of MEC Whirl Wind tights that are too warm unless it is at least -15C

Pcad - how is/was Greece? A far cry from the subject of this thread, but back home I'm sure this is a great suggestion.

So ... did Banff get snow, or was it just in the peaks? I drove home from Radium via SRC the day before yesterday and the peaks were pretty white.
