Golf? Cycling?
Wouldn't that be some kind of bike polo? :-)

You're a "golfer" if your handicap is 2 or below... otherwise, you "play golf" or, go ahead and describe yourself as a "hack." You're a "cyclist" if you regularly place in the top 10 in cat 2/3 races... otherwise, you "ride bicycles" or go ahead and describe yourself as a "fred." So... it's fairly easy to be a "hack" and a "fred" but pretty much impossible to be a "golfer" and a "cyclist." In fact, since I've been "hacking" and "freding", I've found that it's pretty much impossible to be a "golfer" OR a "cyclist."

I try to golf 3 times a month, I do about 20 rides per month. Last Sunday after church I did a quick 25 miles, then changed real quick and meet 2 friends for 18 holes. My friends use a golf cart but I like to carry my clubs and walk(run) the course.

I was playing golf about twice a week when I decided to get back into cycling. Now I ride 2 or 3 times a week (wish I had time for more) and only golf a few times a year, but I weigh 20 lbs less and feel a lot better...

There is surely Zen in Golf, but I'm sure I'd never find it.

I'm not saying that they don't exist. If you are a "cyclist" or a "golfer" then you are probably better than 95 percent of the people that participate in these sports. It's not going to happen for me. I'd have a much better chance at calling myself a golfer than a cyclist though. Good for you Scratch... I love being in a foursome that has a scratch golfer. It's fun to see how the game is really supposed to be played. I've never actually ridden much with a "cyclist"... you can probably imagine that it's pretty hard to keep up (unless we're doing a 10-20 mile downhill ride)

I shot a 57 on tiger woods 06, set on expert.. or the second hardest setting, on bethpage black course. And I cant play video games for more than an hour at a time... I would much rather ride my bike, or play real golf.
Random fact. The average golf course is 7 miles to walk, and that's if you are in the center of the fairway on every shot... add 20+ pounds of metal sticks and such to your back, and you have a pretty good workout, IMO.
