The light get lighter...
Günter Mai's rig is now sub-3KG thanks to a new frame from Spin with integrated bottom bracket cups, a new crankset from THM with some wicked chainrings and new brakes from AX-Lightness.
Total weight: 2967.7 grams (6.542 pounds).

If your cycling shoes plus pedals and cleats weigh as much as your bike, have you gone too far?

How long until the seatpost & saddle are both inegrated into the frame? The binder and bolts must weigh a ton!

His bikes are pretty interesting. I read about him on WW and he does a lot of his own modifications to help get the weight down. Supposedly, the bikes are actually used on a regular basis as well.

i mean plenty of people ride 1,000 km/week on 25lb bikes, that's not really saying a lot.
please inform me!!

Indeed. Durable enough. For its weight, it is. No. Yes. Indeed.

He rides them in Grand Fondos and Cyclo-Tours when he isn't tuning them.

Where's the saddle bag? Bike computer? Kickstand?
Again, do you ever ride an actual road bicycle on an actual road kid?

The pros go with Powertaps, aluminum bars and stems, and more comfy saddles. They add the Powertap to get the weight up to the limit.
I thought the new Orca frame was light(~875g) but this guy's frame is a half pound lighter(624g).
