Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you mean by research, just looking at your threads for about three seconds, then it is research.

lol.....

Remember I said I was just at the Fred Checkpoint Level 1. I am only allowed to carry 2 spare tubes, a small Parks took kit, and one small red flashing rear light. I said that about 200 posts ago.

The apprenticeship level - the dick level - is reserved for guys in full kits riding Cervelos in charity rides. That's just one step away from passing Checkpoint One to Fredness. After that it's all downhill. But if they're also riding aero bars they automatically get a pass to Checkpoint 2.

The Doc doesn't yet qualify because he was not on the charity ride. He was just staying at same hotel. But it's coming soon for him and all of us. It's inevitable.

So, Chipcom, how long have you been stuck in the Dick phase

That's what 3 seconds of research gets ya - out of context quotes and missing the intent.

To do the research ya gotta click on me, click on my recent posts, and browse them. Takes more than 3 seconds. But I feel it's a compliment that I drive someone to go to all that trouble. Thanks !!!!

Why would anyone invest this much valuable time to research a BF post?

I have been a Dick, Fred and Road Nazi many times, as that is the great circle of cycling. but stroking this Dick with lameness isn't going to get you out of the Dick phase any faster...you must use some creativity and originality in your stroking (a little vaseline might not hurt either). Control your Cervelo envy, curbhopper, it is affecting your stroke and making me less than excited.

I think the difference in opinion throughout this entire thread can be distilled down to brain hemisphere dominance. If you see the girl spinning CW, you are Right Brain dominant. CCW= Left Brain and of course Pcad is disqualified for not having a brain. If you read the NY Times of course it is speculated the above is reverse.

And if you notice the girl is naked, and you approve, then you're alive.

All Freds are an embarrassment. I thought that was rather obvious. If you don't think so, come out with us on some of the local racer rides in January when the Freds show up on 15 lb racing bikes wearing 25 lb snowmobile suits.

There's no shame in freditude, there's only a perception among those who think they are not freds that there should be shame.

I've vowed never to return to NY state unless I'm paid to do so. So I'll have to pass on the invitation until and unless a business trip forces me to be there.

I never actually had to make a vow to never return to Minnesota, the major airlines just essentially fly over the place @ 30,000 feet/450 knots. I might have to return there if the Mets ever had to play the Twins in the World Series, but I don't think you'll have to worry about the Metsies being in that position anytime soon.

If you don't get a direct flight, you might have the choice of Detroit, O'Hare and Minneapolis for a layover. Trust me, take the latter.

Minnesota was beautiful (we drove through it when I was 15 years old). But it is Flyover Land to the idiots from NY and LA. At least I have some idea of what I'm missing. Nice place.

Dr Pete, did you have on one of the dorky TT helmets when this happened? If so you may not be a poser but you would be a tool. :-)

Its means you are one of the rare enlightened individuals with equal development of the left and right side of your brain melding creativity and linear thinking. But that notion is somewhat discarded because you asked.

Doc you do recognize that part of the hating dynamic in this thread is based on TT fairy guy loathing from roadies and nothing personal Maybe it is because TT guys usually end up drope-ing roadies on drop bar bikes...somethings anyway.
