Remember I said I was just at the Fred Checkpoint Level 1. I am only allowed to carry 2 spare tubes, a small Parks took kit, and one small red flashing rear light. I said that about 200 posts ago.
The apprenticeship level - the dick level - is reserved for guys in full kits riding Cervelos in charity rides. That's just one step away from passing Checkpoint One to Fredness. After that it's all downhill. But if they're also riding aero bars they automatically get a pass to Checkpoint 2.
The Doc doesn't yet qualify because he was not on the charity ride. He was just staying at same hotel. But it's coming soon for him and all of us. It's inevitable.
So, Chipcom, how long have you been stuck in the Dick phase

I think the difference in opinion throughout this entire thread can be distilled down to brain hemisphere dominance. If you see the girl spinning CW, you are Right Brain dominant. CCW= Left Brain and of course Pcad is disqualified for not having a brain. 
If you read the NY Times of course it is speculated the above is reverse.
