Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cyclometers with built in HRMs

I have a Garmin 305, which I love...when it works, however, I have had to replace it 2 times for developing the infamous turn off problem. On my road bike, I use it, and as long as I'm not hitting really big pot holes it works, however, on my mountain and cyclocross bike, this isn't an option. I haven't really been in the market for cyclometers for a long time, so I'm not sure whats out there. I'm looking for one that has a HRM built in. Besides that I don't really need any neat features like data logging, or something like that.

What is out there?

Cateye V3 has the HRM function, as does the V2. Blackburn has a couple (Delphi and Neuro), as does Polar (CS100 and CS200), However, I've had very bad luck with the Polar (and I don't think I'm alone in this).

Polar CS100 mounted to the stem - works great for me. Highly recommended.
